We're sorry to see you go. Here's how to delete your MedMitra account and what happens to your data.
How to Delete Your Account
1In-App Deletion (Recommended)
- Open the MedMitra app
- Go to Profile tab
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account
- Confirm your request in the dialog
Your account will be deleted immediately.
2Via Email
Send an email to support@medmitra-ai.com with:
- Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
- Your registered phone number
- Reason for deletion (optional)
We will process your request within 72 hours.
What Happens to Your Data
Permanently Deleted
- Your name, phone number, and email address
- Profile photo
- Login sessions and device tokens
- Push notification subscriptions
- Wallet balance (withdraw any remaining balance before deleting)
- Medicine and appointment reminders
- Support tickets and messages
Retained for Legal Compliance
The following data is retained in anonymized form as required by Indian law:
- Medical records & prescriptions — retained for 7 years (Indian Medical Council regulations)
- Billing & payment history — retained for 8 years (Income Tax Act requirements)
- Lab test results — retained for 7 years
This data is anonymized and cannot be linked back to your identity after account deletion. It is automatically purged after the legally mandated retention period expires.
Important Notes
- Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. You cannot recover your account after deletion.
- If you have pending orders or active consultations, please wait for them to complete before deleting your account.
- Any unused wallet balance will be forfeited. Please withdraw or use it before requesting deletion.
- You can create a new account with the same phone number after deletion, but your previous data will not be restored.
